Synthesis of information and Analysis (Module 3 Skype session 20/11/18 @ 5pm)

Yesterday at the Skype session we spoke about where we all currently are with our research.
As the draft deadline approaches and the submission deadline is less than a month away, all of us have completed our data collection and are now looking at the data and literature in detail, organising it in themes and beginning to analyse them.

We spoke about the importance of not only comparing the data within each theme/category but cross-comparing as well.

A common question that emerged is 'how do I know what data is not relevant and is better left out?'

One answer to this is to focus on what is relevant to your practice and anything that isn't can better be left out. The inquiry is supposed to inform our own practice after all.

To me, this seemed almost confusing because by the nature of my inquiry all data I have gathered seems completely related to my practice. So it's a balance between how relevant it is to our professional practice but also to this specific inquiry. If everything is relevant to our practice, is it also relevant to this specific inquiry or can some things be left on the side to look into and analyse at a different time instead of trying to force too much into this single 12-week inquiry?
